What are resolutions?
res·o·lu·tion
ˌrezəˈlo͞oSH(ə)n/
Did I make any? No. I made personal corrections i would like to add to my life.
See the issue with resolutions is they don't factor in how they year will go.
Last year I swore i would stay active and in the gym everyday, by April I was in a 4 car pile up accident.
I was sore, swollen, and my hip had filled with fluid in the socket.
You CANNOT get buff when a doctor prohibits you from doing just about anything.
Then by September we found out we were expecting shortly after our Wedding.
You CANNOT get buff when everything make you nauseous and everything aches.
I digress, the issue with resolutions is that on January 1st, no one can guarantee how your year will go.
So much like an editor, I'm making simple corrections to the book that is my life.
1. Read more.
- To Myself, to the kids, to my spouse before bed. I miss my love of reading.
2. Less Artificial, more Real.
-Food, fast food, less of that more of things that grow from the ground and trees.
3. Fight the War on Laundry more efficiently.
- Am i the only one who feels they own a circus staff amount of laundry weekly?
Do elves exist and can I hire one to help with my Laundry situation? Do I give him Dental and Vision?
4. Blog more.
- The more I see the world of parenting around me, the more I realize that there's a lot of Moms, Dads, Nanas, and working parents who have the same goals and problems I have.
5. Keep our Master Bedroom Cleaner.
- As many parents, our room would ideally be a creative, romantic sensual, relaxing paradise.
In reality, as many parents also, our bedroom is Headquarters, its the BATCAVE, the sergeants office, the place we mass bathe the kids, fights the dirty clothes battle, the hair salon to my clan of babies, its my husband barber shop, my vanity and make studio and the Pinterest lab of outfits that damn app inspires. lol
Simple Edits like this, I feel, would help my everyday sanity greatly. Now I cant guarantee anything but if I can stick to them during January, its more likely they stick in February, maybe March and so on.
So here's a Toast (Yes I'm drinking chocolate milk @ 8am) to the New Year and all the adventures, down falls, and challenges it may bring.
love, k phoenix
